Questions, answered properly.
Everything people ask before they book, plus a few things they only ask afterwards. If yours is not here, ring (209) 278-4781 and Cassie will answer it.

PRICING AND PAYMENT
Pricing and payment
$175 an hour with a one hour minimum, billed in half hours after the first. That is the same rate on a weekday, a Saturday, a Sunday and at two in the morning. There is no trip charge, no dispatch fee and no fuel surcharge.
Because driving out, parking, carrying tools in and diagnosing the problem takes real time whether the repair takes five minutes or fifty. The trade off is that there is no after hours multiplier and no call out fee on top.
When the job is finished. No deposit, no card held to secure the booking, and nothing taken up front. Card, check or bank transfer.
Yes. Thirty minutes, no charge, no obligation. Ron looks at the job and tells you what it needs and what it will cost. If you go with somebody else, you owe nothing.
Materials are charged at what they cost plus the time to fit them. If you would rather buy the fixture yourself, that is completely fine and the labor rate does not change.
BOOKING AND SCHEDULING
Booking and scheduling
Yes, and it is a real booking against Ron's actual availability rather than a request form. Pick the job, pick the day, pick the time. You get a confirmation and Cassie calls to check we have what we need on the van.
Sunday is emergency cover only. No regular appointments at all. The phone is answered but the calendar deliberately will not offer you a slot, because holding Sunday open is what makes emergency cover possible.
Ron takes four Saturday jobs, and they have to be in the diary beforehand. The rest of the day is held open for emergencies. If you try to book Saturday on Saturday morning, the form will not offer it, because at that point it is an emergency call rather than an appointment.
Same day booking needs about two hours so Ron can fit it into the run he is already on. Emergencies are different, ring the number and we will work it out.
Call (209) 278-4781. A few hours' notice where you can manage it, so the slot can go to somebody else. There is no cancellation fee.
ON THE DAY
On the day
Yes. Ron calls before he sets off so you know he is on the way and roughly when he will arrive.
Somebody over eighteen needs to be there, or you need to have given access arrangements when you booked. For anything where the water has to go off, it is genuinely better if you are there.
Clear the space around whatever is being worked on, and put pets somewhere safe. If you know where the main shutoff is, having it accessible saves a few minutes at the start.
Ron stops and tells you before carrying on. You get the new picture and you decide. What will not happen is a much larger number appearing at the end without a conversation.
THE WORK ITSELF
The work itself
Labor is guaranteed for twelve months. If something we did fails inside that year we come back and there is no charge. Parts and fixtures carry whatever warranty the manufacturer offers and we will tell you what it is before it goes in.
Licensed, bonded and insured. The license number is in the footer of every page, and you can check it on the CSLB website in about thirty seconds. We would encourage you to, for us and for anybody else you are considering.
Yes, where the work requires one. Water heater replacement and gas work are permitted in California. Unpermitted work becomes a problem when you sell the house, and it is a bigger problem if an insurer ever asks questions.
Septic systems, well pumps, HVAC, fire sprinklers, large commercial plant, and sewer excavation across a public road. If you ring about one of those, Cassie will tell you straight away and point you at somebody who does it properly.
Yes, and quite a lot of what we do is for small landlords and property managers. Give us the tenant's contact details and access arrangements when you book, and we will invoice you rather than them.
EMERGENCIES
Emergencies
Water you cannot stop, sewage backing up into the house, no water at all, a water heater leaking from the tank body, or any smell of gas. A dripping faucet at midnight is annoying but it is not an emergency and it will cost you less on Tuesday.
No. Same rate, same minimum, whatever the clock says.
Shut the water off, then call. If you cannot find the valve, call anyway and stay on the line, because Cassie can usually talk you to it. For gas, get everybody out first and call PG&E on 1-800-743-5000 from outside the house.
It depends where you are and what Ron is already doing. Tracy, Mountain House and Banta are usually quick. Modesto, Turlock and Oakdale take longer. You will get a real answer on the phone rather than a promise nobody can keep.
Question we did not cover?
Ring (209) 278-4781. Cassie would rather spend five minutes on the phone than have somebody book the wrong thing.
